Angelos Angelou, Principal Executive Officer Mr. Angelos Angelou is the Founder and Principal Executive Officer of AngelouEconomics bringing over 20 years of experience in economic development and site selection. Having spent 11 years with the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, Angelos brings a practitioner's approach to AE's economic development team. During his time at the Chamber, Angelos was responsible for the recruitment of 400 technology companies and some 70,000 employees, including, Tokyo Electron, Motorola, AMD, Cypress Semiconductor, Applied Materials, Samsung, and Sematech. As a result, he has worked with major corporate clients domestically and internationally, and has carried much of that client base with him into private practice. A highly visible leader in the field of economic development across the U.S., Angelos is widely regarded as the chief architect in the establishment of Austin as a high tech center. Because his expertise is in the technology economy and global economic development issues, the national media regularly seeks his comments and insights. Angelos holds an M. A. Economics cum laude from St. Mary's University in San Antonio; B.A. in Economics, University of Texas at San Antonio. Angelos is on the Board of several organizations, including International Economic Development Council (IEDC), World Congress on Information Technology (Austin 2006), Treaty Oak Bank, and St. Edward’s University. Michael Hennig, Project Manager As Project Manager at AngelouEconomics, Michael provides advanced research and strategic analysis to the firm's clients that include cities, states and regions throughout the U.S. as well as several countries throughout the world. Prior to his work at AngelouEconomics, Michael served as Principal of Civtech Solutions, a municipal consulting firm he founded to assist small communities with complex economic development projects. Previously, Michael served as Director of Research & Strategic Development for Orasi, an economic development consulting firm in Fort Worth, Texas. In that time, Michael was involved in the creation of multiple TIFs, crafted incentive policies for numerous cities and EDCs, and played a senior role in the business attraction activities for communities throughout Texas. Michael holds a BBA in Entrepreneurship from TCU’s Neeley School of Business and an MPA in Economic Development from UT Arlington’s School of Urban & Public Affairs. John Karras, Project Manager John Karras is a Project Manager at AngelouEconomics where he specializes in demographic analysis, target industry research, and economic development strategic planning. Prior to joining AngelouEconomics in 2011, John worked as a Project Manager in the New York City Department of Transportation’s (NYCDOT) Division of Planning and Sustainability. At NYCDOT, John worked with a wide range of stakeholders to plan and implement solutions that improved the efficiency and safety of goods movement in New York City. John managed projects that improved access for deliveries while balancing the needs for passenger vehicle parking, deliveries to merchants, transit riders, cyclists, and pedestrians. John also collaborated with other government agencies and the trucking industry to solve policy and operational issues related to goods movement and coordinated community outreach on truck issues. Prior to working with NYCDOT, John was an Urban Planning/GIS Specialist with EDAW | AECOM in San Antonio, Texas. At EDAW, he worked on the Fort Worth Urban Villages project and marketing efforts for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in San Antonio. John holds an MS in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Texas – Austin and a
